I would not recommend an electric one. I got one, but I found that it
was not powerful enough. I finally got a gas one.

Such a timely topic. I used my electric chainsaw last night and fried
the motor. My neighbor had to come to the rescue with his gas chainsaw.
These were both 14" chainsaws, but his definitely had more power than
mine, I mean before it self-destructed. I'm getting a gas one this time.
